Actor Richard Dreyfuss went on Twitter Sunday night after the Emmy Awards to confirm that (a) he is not dead and that (b) he is not Julia Louis-Dreyfus‘ father.
As Louis-Dreyfus accepted the award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for her role in Veep, she tearfully revealed that her father had died Friday. Her father was 84-year-old William Louis-Dreyfus, but many Twitter users mistakenly thought she was the daughter of the 68-year-old Oscar-winner. Dreyfuss later tweeted, “I’m actually not Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ father. But I really appreciate all the concerned tweets.” (People)
